XRP Ledger Sees Trading Activity Surge Amid Institutional Shift
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) saw significant changes in trading activity during the second quarter of 2026. Order-book trading on the XRPL averaged 3.57 million XRP per day, a 79% increase from the same period last year. However, the number of accounts making these trades fell from 1,864 to 1,111 per day.
This shift resulted in fewer but more active traders, with the average daily trading volume per account nearly tripling from 1,072 XRP to 3,217 XRP. Order-book trading also accounted for 81% of all decentralized exchange (DEX) trading on XRPL, up from 54% in Q2 2025.
Meanwhile, RLUSD liquidity on the XRP Ledger grew sharply during Q2, with balances averaging $539 million, a 642% increase year over year. The amount of RLUSD transferred also jumped by 925%. As a result, the XRP Ledger's share of total RLUSD supply increased from 20% to 34%.
