XRP Ledger Sees Unprecedented 99% Burn Rate for Ripple's $RLUSD Stablecoin
Ripple's $RLUSD stablecoin has seen an unusual trend on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) in recent months, with a staggering 99% burn rate over the past 30 days.
This anomaly is attributed to the high intensity of sudden redemptions by institutional clients, resulting in $448.9 million worth of tokens being burned out of the total $449.3 million minted during this period.
As a result, net supply growth on XRPL has been reduced to near-zero, exposing a deep cross-chain imbalance across the ecosystem.
Despite this, the total circulating $RLUSD supply remains at $1.757 billion, with liquidity distributed almost evenly between XRPL and Ethereum (50.2% vs 49.8%).
