XRP Ledger Sets New Record for Transaction Processing

The XRP Ledger has set a new record for processing transactions in one ledger. On September 14, it processed 3,254 transactions, according to validator operator Vet.

This is not an unusually large amount of XRP moving between accounts. Most of the transactions were simple payments carrying one drop of XRP, which is the smallest native currency unit available on the network.

Vet described the activity as 'throughput testing', but it's unclear who initiated these transactions and why. The purpose behind this burst of activity remains unknown.
