XRP Ledger Sets New Record for Transactions Processed in One Ledger
The XRP Ledger has set a new record for transactions processed in one ledger, with 3,254 transactions recorded on September 14. According to validator operator Vet, most of these transactions were small payments of one drop of XRP, the network's smallest native currency unit.
Vet described the activity as possibly a throughput test, but noted that the sender has not publicly explained their purpose. The transaction count does not necessarily indicate the load on validators, as different types of transactions can have varying levels of complexity and processing requirements.
The XRP Ledger's capacity is adaptive, adjusting its transaction target based on factors such as transaction volume, network latency, and consensus performance. Validators can raise or lower the soft transaction target depending on how quickly they close ledgers within expected timing limits.
