XRP Ledger Shatters Transaction Record with 3254-Transaction Block
The XRP Ledger has set a new record for the number of transactions processed within a single ledger. According to validator Vet, one recent ledger contained an impressive 3,254 transactions, exceeding the previous all-time high.
Most of these transactions were tiny XRP transfers, with many being just one drop, the smallest unit of XRP. Vet speculated that this may have been throughput testing, but couldn't determine the reason behind it.
The XRP Ledger's transaction-processing limit is not fixed and can adapt based on how quickly validators process transactions. If a ledger contains more transactions than the current target, the network can increase the target depending on its closure speed.
