XRP Ledger Smashes Transaction Record with 3,254 Entries in One Block
The XRP Ledger achieved a new record on September 14 by validating 3,254 transactions in a single ledger. This milestone came just three days after a protocol fix, known as fixCleanup3_3_0, went live on the mainnet with 31 of 35 validators supporting it.
The burst of transactions was mostly comprised of one-drop XRP payments, which Hussein Zangana, community director at the XRP Ledger Foundation, attributed to probable throughput testing. The sender behind the activity has not provided an explanation.
Zangana noted that a ledger filled with simple payments does not put as much strain on validators as one carrying more complex transactions, such as exchange orders or token operations. He estimated that 500 simple payments could weigh less than 200 trades.
