XRP Ledger Smashes Transaction Record with 3,254 Transactions in a Single Ledger
The XRP Ledger set a new transaction record on September 13, with ledger 106,965,249 holding 3,254 transactions. According to data trackers, this surpassed previous records of 2,713 and 2,768 transactions in single ledgers.
Hussein Zangana, the XRP Ledger Foundation community director, flagged the record earlier in the day. A scan of 7,600 consecutive ledgers found an average of about 84 transactions per ledger, with only 43 exceeding 2,000 transactions and the record ledger topping 2,800.
The majority of these transactions came from 20 accounts, each sending exactly 100 transactions, a total of 2,000 payments. Each payment was for 1 drop, the smallest unit of XRP, moving less than a cent at its current price of $1.37. The batch burned about 0.04 XRP in fees.
The rest of the ledger included various types of transactions: OfferCreate orders on the XRPL DEX, ticket creations, check cashes, and trust line changes. At least 890 transactions failed due to 'tec' result codes, mostly payments that couldn't be filled or fill-or-kill orders.
