XRP Ledger Surges to $3 Billion in Tokenized Real-World Assets
The XRP Ledger has seen a significant surge in tokenized real-world assets (RWA), reaching $3 billion on May 3, 2026. This marks a 59% increase from early April and is driven by institutional actors such as the Dubai Land Department's government-backed property tokenization program, Archax with its $1 billion issuance pipeline, and rapidly expanding US Treasuries.
The XRP Ledger has overcome technical arguments against private-chain deployment due to protocol upgrades that have removed these obstacles. The recent Permissioned Domains amendment enabled issuers to create KYC-gated token environments directly on the public mainnet, while the Permissioned DEX allows regulated institutions to run members-only secondary markets for tokenized securities.
The composition of XRPL's tokenized asset base has shifted over six months, with institutional-grade assets being migrated onto the ledger. Archax's stated pipeline of $1 billion in tokenized securities represents committed institutional flow across multiple asset classes, including funds and equities.
The rapid growth of tokenized US Treasuries is also notable, expanding from approximately $50 million to a substantially larger position by Q1 2026 with acceleration occurring sharply after the Permissioned Domains amendment activated.
