XRP Ledger Surges Towards One Million Daily Payments
The XRP Ledger is getting closer to processing one million daily payments after seeing a significant increase in activity on September 1. According to data from XRPSCAN, the network processed 879,868 payments that day, bringing it close to the 890,000 mark.
This represents a 33.6% increase over the previous day and is a notable move towards surpassing the one million payment threshold. The current daily average is about 193,000 more payments than its recent average, indicating a sustained increase in activity.
A further 13.7% increase from September's figure would push the network past this milestone, which has been a psychologically significant target for XRP Ledger. While activity on the network has fluctuated throughout the year, it's worth noting that one million payments would not be an all-time high, with the historical peak reaching roughly six million.
The price action of XRP is currently more cautious, having dropped to around $1.32 after a recent breakout above $1.50 in August. The asset is testing its 200-day EMA at $1.35, which could be an important level for the price to hold or break.
