XRP Ledger Surpasses 5 Billion Transactions Amid Growing Tokenization Competition
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has surpassed a major milestone with over 5 billion transactions on its network. According to XRPScan, this marks more than a decade of on-chain activity. The network's ability to process fast settlements at low costs has contributed to its appeal for financial applications.
This achievement is not the only indicator of XRPL's growth. In the real-world asset (RWA) sector, it recorded approximately $1.9 billion in RWA inflows over a 90-day period, excluding stablecoins. This puts it ahead of Ethereum at around $1.6 billion and Stellar at roughly $1.4 billion.
This development highlights the competition among major blockchains to capture the tokenization market. As financial institutions explore blockchain infrastructure for assets such as bonds, funds, commodities, and credit, XRPL's lead in RWA inflows suggests it is becoming a serious player in institutional tokenization.
