XRP Ledger Surpasses Stellar as Top Stablecoin Platform
The XRP Ledger has surpassed Stellar in terms of stablecoin supply, according to DeFiLlama. With a total stablecoin supply of $1.092 billion, XRPL ranks 12th among blockchain networks, while Stellar is ranked 13th with $968.67 million. This marks a significant shift in the stablecoin landscape, with XRP Ledger's supply increasing by 14.29% and Stellar's supply declining by 5.87% over the past week.
The majority of XRP Ledger's stablecoin supply comes from RLUSD, which makes up 90.49% of the total network, valued at approximately $988 million. While Ethereum still leads in terms of RLUSD supply, with $1.08 billion worth on its network, XRP Ledger is gaining ground.
RLUSD has also reached a market capitalization milestone, surpassing $2 billion. This growth coincides with Ripple's advancement into institutional credit markets and the development of new protocols for providing RLUSD loans to fintech and payments companies on XRPL, in partnership with Clearpool and Cicada Partners.
