XRP Ledger Surpasses Stellar in Stablecoin Supply with RLUSD at Forefront
The XRP Ledger has surpassed Stellar in stablecoin supply, according to data from DeFiLlama. The total stablecoin supply on XRPL now stands at $1.092 billion, ranking it 12th among blockchain networks. In contrast, Stellar's stablecoin supply has declined by 5.87% and currently sits at $968.67 million, placing it just behind XRPL in the rankings.
The growth of XRP Ledger's stablecoin supply is largely due to the increasing demand for Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD. With a total supply of $988.36 million, RLUSD makes up 90.49% of the total stablecoin supply on XRPL. This puts it ahead of Ethereum, which has an RLUSD supply worth approximately $1.08 billion.
RLUSD has also surpassed the $2 billion market cap milestone and is gaining momentum in the crypto market. Ripple's involvement in providing RLUSD loans to fintech and payments companies on XRPL with Clearpool and Cicada Partners is also contributing to the growth of the stablecoin.
