XRP Ledger Unveils Confidential Transfers Feature
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is working on a new feature called Confidential Transfers that aims to provide greater privacy for institutional users in token transfers. This feature targets the institutional tokenized asset market, which exceeds $530 million.
The Confidential Transfers feature will keep token balances and transfer amounts hidden while keeping accounts and token types visible on the network. It will use cryptographic methods such as zero-knowledge proofs to verify transactions without disclosing sensitive information.
This upgrade is primarily designed for Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs) based on XRPL, including funds, bonds, and other tokenized financial assets. The feature will also address needs such as batch processing, third-party transaction fee coverage, authorization management, and dynamic token modification.
