XRP Ledger Upgrade Nears Release After Community-Driven Security Review
The XRP Ledger is gearing up for its next major upgrade, version 3.3.0, which will bring several new features to the network. Ripple's Head of Product, Jazzi Cooper, shared details of the upcoming release, which includes five key amendments: Confidential MPTs, Batch transactions, Permission Delegation, Sponsored Fees and Reserves, and Dynamic MPT.
These features aim to enhance the functionality and security of the XRP Ledger. The community has been testing these new features through a rigorous adversarial testing process led by Web3 security firm Sherlock. This review revealed several issues, including 2 Critical, 6 High, 29 Medium, and 59 Low problems.
As part of this testing process, participants from the XRP community earned rewards in RLUSD, with a total of $309,000 unlocked. The successful testing paves the way for the release of version 3.3.0, which is expected to bring significant improvements to the network.
