XRP Ledger Validators Consider Lending Amendments
XRP Ledger validators are considering two amendments that would add single-asset vaults and fixed-term lending directly to the network's core protocol.
The proposed amendments, XLS-65 and XLS-66, have not reached the required support from more than 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks. Ripple joined Clearpool and Cicada as investors in a planned RLUSD-denominated working-capital loan fund but does not guarantee the fund's losses.
XLS-65 would introduce Single Asset Vaults that pool one type of asset from multiple depositors, while XLS-66 would use pooled liquidity to fund fixed-term loans. The proposed lending system relies on off-chain underwriting rather than automatic overcollateralization and liquidation.
The next formal milestone is validator approval, which requires a 14-day hold on support above the 80% threshold for either amendment to activate.
