XRP Ledger's 5 Billion Transactions Raise Concerns Over Bot Dominance
The XRP Ledger has reached an impressive milestone of 5 billion transactions, but new data reveals that 92% of August's activity came from just 767 bots. According to Bitquery, these automated accounts generated 75.98 million transactions out of the total 81.56 million during the month.
The concentration of activity is not limited to transaction counts, as Evernorth Research found that order-book trading volume rose by 79% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, despite a 40% decline in the number of accounts initiating trades. This shift has led some to suggest that professional traders are taking a larger share of activity.
One account was particularly notable, generating almost 13 million transactions in August, including 12.79 million decentralized-exchange orders. However, only 882 of these orders resulted in trades, highlighting the gap between network activity and economic execution.
