XRP Lending Proposal Hits Roadblock With Only 20% Validator Support
XRP Ledger's lending proposal has yet to reach activation, with only around 20% validator support. This is far below the necessary 80% approval threshold required for an amendment to become live on the network.
Dr. Kamilah Stevenson, also known as The Wealth Doctor, argues that XRP Ledger's next major real-world-asset development will not be tokenization itself but rather the ability to extend credit against tokenized assets.
The proposed features aim to add credit infrastructure, including single-asset vaults and a lending protocol. However, Stevenson emphasizes that credit assessment would remain off-ledger and be performed by licensed financial institutions, while the ledger would execute the resulting loan terms.
