XRP Needs Sustained Growth to Surpass Bitcoin

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz believes that XRP can eventually surpass Bitcoin in market value, but only if it grows faster than Bitcoin on its own.

According to Schwartz, this would not happen because Bitcoin shrinks in value, but rather because XRP continues to expand at a faster rate than Bitcoin in an overall growing crypto market.

Bitcoin's current market capitalization is between $1.54 trillion and $1.58 trillion, while XRP's is around $85 billion to $89 billion, leaving a gap of about $1.49 trillion for XRP to close.

To reach Bitcoin's market cap, XRP would need to hit around $24.50, which is more than 6 times its all-time high price of $3.84.
