XRP Network Activity Surges 654% as Active Addresses Reach Record High
The XRP Ledger has seen a significant surge in network activity, with active addresses increasing by 654.71% to approximately 356,000. This represents a substantial jump from the daily average of around 35,700 in August 2026.
This growth is notable, especially when compared to the token's otherwise quiet price action. XRP has spent much of 2026 trading around $1, with recent closings at levels not seen since late November 2024.
Transaction activity has also been on the rise, with successful transactions increasing by approximately 65.5% and overall transaction volume rising by around 38.5%. The second quarter of 2026 saw a record 222.4 million transactions on the ledger, making it the second-highest quarterly total ever recorded.
The surge in activity can be attributed to existing holders becoming more active, rather than new arrivals. This is evident from the gap between activated accounts and new address growth, with over 8 million activated accounts by July, up from roughly 7.85 million in March.
Tokenization activity, particularly around Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, has also contributed to this increase. By mid-2026, approximately 59,000 holders were using stablecoins on the XRP Ledger, targeting institutional settlement use cases rather than retail trading.
