XRP Network Activity Surges Amid Price Volatility
XRP's network activity has seen a significant surge in 2026, with 489,739 new accounts added to the XRP Ledger in the first half of the year. This growth has pushed the total number of accounts on the ledger to a new peak of 8.403 million in July.
Not only have new accounts been added, but exchange supply has also declined to a 7-year low of 2.748 billion XRP tokens. This decrease indicates that coins are moving to self-custody, reducing circulating supply and suggesting accumulation is underway.
The growth in network activity has not yet translated into price gains for XRP, however. Despite a daily trading volume of $1.06 billion, the altcoin's price remains down by around 41% year-to-date (YTD) and only recently broke above the key support level at $1.
The price of RLUSD, an institutional stablecoin minted on the XRP Ledger, has also seen growth, with a market cap of $873 million. The addition of Ripple Mint for institutional RLUSD may help stabilize the price of XRP, but it is unclear if this will be enough to keep the altcoin above $1.
