XRP Overtakes Stellar in Stablecoin Market Share Amid Price Surge
XRP's price surge has sparked questions about its underlying growth signals. The asset traded as high as $1.6801, up 22.25%, before easing back to $1.49, still up 8.01% on the day. Bitcoin barely moved in the same window, up just 0.78% to $78,510, highlighting a gap between the two assets.
The XRP Ledger quietly passed Stellar to become a bigger stablecoin network, with its total stablecoin market cap now sitting at $1.039 billion, up 12.99% over 7 days and up 2.01% in the past day alone.
Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse commented on the company's four-year SEC case, stating that it spent $150 million fighting the lawsuit and that 80% of its hiring during that period happened outside the US rather than domestically.
