XRP Plummets to $1: Will the Cryptocurrency Recover?
XRP, the world's sixth-largest cryptocurrency, has seen its price plummet to $1. This is not just a dip, but a significant pullback of more than 70% over the past year and a 45% drop in 2026 alone.
The problem is that XRP appears to be at risk of breaking through a psychologically important price level, which could lead to further losses. In fact, some analysts predict that XRP's price could fall as low as $0.50, a level it reached in November 2024.
Despite this bearish outlook, there are still many investors who believe that XRP will turn things around soon. Data from CoinGlass shows that there is unusually heavy demand for XRP long positions, with three long positions open for every short position. Prediction markets also suggest that XRP has a 29% chance of reaching $1.50 in 2026 and a 16% chance of reaching $2.
However, the catalyst that was supposed to send XRP's price higher, the Clarity Act, now appears to be derailed. Until this issue is resolved, it may not be wise to buy XRP at its current bargain-basement prices.
