XRP Poised for Institutional Finance Dominance, Says Canary Capital CEO
Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg believes that XRP Ledger (XRPL) is poised to become the leading protocol for financial rails used by institutions. He argues that its centralized characteristics are an advantage, not a weakness.
Institutions prioritize control, compliance, and predictability over full decentralization, according to McClurg. This gives XRP an edge as blockchain technology expands into regulated lending, payments, and tokenized assets.
Ripple, Clearpool, and Cicada Partners are working together to build an institutional lending and credit market on the network, using RLUSD for lending. The project will provide financing to fintech companies, payment firms, and crypto businesses.
McClurg is bullish about XRP's potential, predicting that it could reach $3.40 in 12 months. He also estimates that the institutional lending opportunity developing on the XRP Ledger could become 'probably even more' than the current market size of $1 billion or $2 billion.
