XRP Poised to Dominate Institutional Financial Infrastructure
Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg believes that XRP has what it takes to become the leading protocol for institutional financial infrastructure. He points to the recent partnership between Cicada Credit and Clearpool, which will bring institutional-grade lending to the XRP Ledger.
'I think it's going to be massive,' McClurg said, highlighting the impact of this development on XRP.
McClurg also noted that the relatively centralized structure of XRP works in its favor for institutional use cases. He contrasted this with retail investors who tend to prefer decentralized alternatives.
The CEO pointed out a significant surge in XRP trading volume on South Korean exchange Upbit, citing 273% increase since March. He attributed this growth partly to the country's population size and the strength of the Korean won as a crypto trading pair.
McClurg emphasized that South Korea and the US represent the two largest markets for XRP by currency-pair volume, with XRP being the clear leading protocol in the South Korean market.
