XRP Price Action Resembles 2017/2018 Market Cycle
XRP's current price action bears an uncanny resemblance to its 2017/2018 market cycle, which saw the asset surge by a staggering 66,000%.
The current symmetrical triangle setup has been forming over several years, similar to the one that preceded the breakout in March 2017. This larger and more prolonged pattern has kept XRP contained within its boundaries for an extended period, only to break above the upper resistance line during the November 2024 rally.
The subsequent move saw XRP climb from around $0.5 to $3.4 by January 2018, before pulling back and eventually reaching a new all-time high of $3.6 in July 2025.
However, the current downtrend is testing the long-term structure, with the price remaining weak and market sentiment exhausted.
The monthly Relative Strength Index (RSI) has dropped into oversold territory at 41.85, a level where XRP has historically attracted long-term buying interest.
