XRP Price Decline Masks Bullish Signals as Developer Hires and Stablecoin Growth Loom Large
Ripple's XRP token has seen a significant price decline over the past week, dropping from its weekly high of $1.45 to $1.39 as of September 10, 2026. Despite this downward trend, the token has experienced several positive developments that may indicate a turnaround in its momentum.
Ripple has hired Brian Beck, a veteran of Google and PayPal, to lead developer relations and ecosystem growth at RippleX. This move is expected to help outside developers adopt the XRP Ledger and turn it into practical applications. Stablecoins issued on the XRP Ledger have also seen significant growth, with $1.12 billion in balances over the past 30 days, a 18.4% increase.
A recent surge in Coinbase's XRP balance initially appeared to be a massive new purchase, but was later clarified as a result of identifying and labeling previously unrecognized wallets. This correction highlights the importance of understanding on-chain data before drawing conclusions.
On September 8, spot ETFs tracking XRP were among the only two groups to record net inflows, pulling in $1.55 million, while Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana funds saw outflows on the same day.
