XRP Price Drops as Ripple Invests in Transfer Agent Tech
XRP's price has dropped to $1.06 due to a broader crypto market weakness and rising fear sentiment, which has caused the total crypto market cap to fall 0.77%. The Fear & Greed Index is at 33, indicating a fear-based tone in the market.
Ripple announced strategic investments in ZILO, a transfer agent technology company, and Licuido, a tokenisation platform, which will introduce regulated transfer agent, issuance, and collateral liquidity capabilities to its $XRP Ledger (XRPL) infrastructure.
Nigel Khakoo, Senior Vice President of Trading & Markets at Ripple, stated that tokenisation is merely the starting point, with true value lying in the ability to use tokens for instant settlement or as collateral for lending. The transfer agent infrastructure and liquidity capabilities provided by ZILO and Licuido will further accelerate this trend.
