XRP Price Drops Despite Record AI Payment Volume and ETF Inflows
XRP's price dropped 3% in a single day, despite four pieces of positive news. The token was trading at $1.40, down from its peak of $1.451.
One reason for the drop could be profit-taking after a run-up or leveraged positions getting closed out. However, this is not due to any negative headlines, as none of the actual news were bad.
A key piece of bullish news comes from AI agents on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) network. These agents have completed 3,807,228 payments through the x402 protocol, a 274% increase from prior levels. The total value settled across these payments was 5,726 XRP and 3,626 RLUSD.
Another positive development is the return of ETF inflows. Spot ETFs tracking XRP logged $6.14 million in net inflows on September 3, nearly offsetting the $7.2 million outflow recorded just one day earlier.
Ripple also secured a multi-year sponsorship deal with the University of Florida's athletic program. The token's branding will appear at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and across digital properties and events.
Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple's CEO, said that making the US 'the crypto capital of the world' is within reach. He made these comments after attending a White House innovation meeting hosted last month.
