XRP Price Drops Despite Record Institutional Demand

XRP's price took another hit yesterday, dropping by 2.7% over the past 24 hours to $1.35. Despite this decline, institutional buyers are still showing up in the form of structured and regulated funds, with August seeing record ETF inflows of over $159 million.

This paradox has left some wondering whether the current slide is close to bottoming out or if there's further to go. The mixed picture can be seen on various timeframes, with gains over two and four weeks but red across every shorter window.

The total value locked on the underlying ledger has collapsed from an all-time high near $120 million in July 2025 down to roughly $41 million now, based on DefiLlama tracking. This drop is happening even as the network's stablecoin supply has grown past $1 billion.
