XRP Price Fights to Hold Ground at $1 Amid Payment Volume Drop
XRP's price has been holding steady at around $1.04 after a significant drop in payment volume on its Ledger network. The surge in activity, which saw over 614.9 million XRP processed on August 7, was short-lived and quickly reversed, with volumes plummeting by almost 90% by August 9.
This pattern of brief spikes followed by rapid reversals is not new for the XRPL payment flows, which have been experiencing similar fluctuations throughout the past month. The underlying trend suggests that this is not a sustained collapse in demand but rather a normal fluctuation in activity.
The $1 support level remains crucial for XRP's short-term chart structure, with a breakdown potentially exposing the recent price lows between $0.95 and $0.97. To reach its upper recovery boundary of $2.50, XRP must first reclaim nearby resistance levels around $1.10 and larger moving averages.
