XRP's price held steady near $1.06 despite an exploit on its bridge verification system, which drained nearly 200,000 XRP from its reserves.

The incident occurred when attackers exploited a flaw in the bridge software that treated transactions delivering no XRP to reserves as valid deposits, allowing unbacked bridged tokens to trigger withdrawals of genuine XRP. The transfers continued for about 97 minutes before the bridge was halted.

CertiK reported that the loss was roughly 199,916 XRP, and that no private keys or XRP Ledger protocol components were compromised. However, the incident has raised concerns about liquidity access and counterparty confidence around connected infrastructure.
