XRP Price Pressure Persists Amidst Launch of Ripple Mint
Ripple's XRP price continues to be pressured despite the launch of Ripple Mint, an institutional-focused platform that provides access to RLUSD stablecoin. The broader crypto market sentiment is weighing on XRP assets, with fears of inflation in the US and rising oil prices contributing to the sell-off.
Simon-Peter Massabni, Business Development Head at XS.com, noted that digital assets are facing repricing risks due to geopolitical tensions and inflation concerns. He stated that 'Rising oil prices, renewed inflation concerns, shifting expectations for US monetary policy, and continued institutional capital inflows are all shaping market sentiment.'
Ripple Mint was designed to address existing gaps in RLUSD execution by offering access to a user interface with built-in control and oversight. The platform allows institutions to mint and redeem RLUSD directly from the source, bridge RLUSD across chains, track funds throughout the transaction lifecycle, and integrate RLUSD into their internal systems or workflows.
The launch of Ripple Mint aims to create stronger utility between XRP and RLUSD, with XRP serving as a complementary asset for liquidity, settlement, swaps, collateral, and payments activity across supported chains. However, institutional interest in XRP-related digital assets is fading, with muted activity on Wednesday and Thursday.
The technical analysis suggests that XRP bears are poised to tighten their grip, with the price trading at $1.11 below key moving averages. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovers near a neutral 49, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram has turned lower, hinting that bullish attempts are losing traction.
