$XRP Price Struggles to Break Through Resistance as Stablecoin Growth Falters
The XRP price has been hovering around $1 for several days as it struggles to break through the resistance level. Despite the growth of stablecoins and tokenized assets on the XRP Ledger, the price remains fragile and vulnerable to further declines.
In Q2, the XRPL-native stablecoin supply rose by 195.4% to reach $825.5 million, while the reported tokenized real-world asset value increased by 102.5% to a record $4.46 billion. However, most of this growth came from Justoken's energy-backed JMWH token, which was held entirely by its issuer.
The relationship between stablecoin adoption and XRP demand is indirect, as stablecoin transfers burn small amounts of XRP as transaction fees and require account reserves. Nevertheless, the growth in stablecoins and tokenized assets may eventually lead to wider ledger activity and increased demand for XRP.
