XRP Price Surge Hits Exhaustion Point as Bulls Prepare for Correction
XRP's recent price surge has reached an exhaustion point, according to technical analysis. The token is now trading at $1.44 after shedding nearly 5% on the day, and every momentum signal indicates that buyers are hitting a wall.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is in overbought territory at 74, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram has flatlined, showing no momentum. The Bollinger Band %B reading of 0.83 also suggests that price is pressing into the upper band rather than riding through it.
However, the longer-term moving average stack remains pristinely bullish, with XRP trading above every major MA, the 7, 20, 50, and 200-day averages. This structure suggests a bull market that needs to breathe, rather than a bear market setup.
Volume and price alignment also point to a controlled compression before continuation. The 24-hour spot volume on Binance was respectable but not explosive, while the open interest jumped 7.49% to over $484 million in notional value, indicating that longs are doubling down near support.
