XRP Price Surges 35% Amid Growing Stablecoin Base and Regulated Investment Products
The XRP price has surged sharply this week, rising 35% and trading near $1.40. According to 21Shares, an asset manager handling over $11 billion in assets, the increase is due to structural changes in the XRP ecosystem.
These changes include a growing stablecoin base, expanding regulated investment products providing exposure to XRP, and rising activity on the XRP Ledger. The asset manager highlighted four key shifts that have contributed to this surge:
The first shift is the absorption of 14.8% of net new XRP supply by U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded products (ETPs) in the first half of 2026, peaking at over 50% in May.
21Shares also noted that XRP's annual supply dilution is lower than some rivals, with an estimated 5.5%, compared to 8.8% for Stellar's XLM and 9.6% for Toncoin (TON). A lower rate of supply expansion means less new XRP enters the market.
The asset manager also pointed out that RLUSD's supply expanded by 1,131% through June 30, 2026, with over half residing on the XRP Ledger, strengthening liquidity and supporting activity across the XRPL ecosystem.
