XRP Retirement Target Requires Over 900,000 Coins at Spot Price
Hitting a $1 million retirement target with XRP requires roughly 900,000 coins at today's price of about $1.10.
This translates to a $990,000 buy order, which is why funding retirement at spot price is a fantasy for most investors.
The real question isn't what XRP costs now but rather how many coins you need to buy today based on where the price might be when you actually stop working.
According to Northwestern Mutual's 2026 study, Americans now say they need $1.46 million to retire comfortably, a $200,000 increase in just one year.
Using the clean modeling assumption of a $1 million retirement target and a 4% annual draw producing about $40,000 in income, running it backward against bullish decade-out forecasts shows that entry costs can shrink significantly.
If XRP hits $5 by 2027, you'd need 200,000 coins, roughly $220,000 today. If it reaches $28 by 2030, about 36,000 coins would be needed, or around $39,000 now.
The most optimistic scenario is 2035 at $38 per XRP, where approximately $29,000 today buys enough to clear $1 million, but this implies a market cap near $2.4 trillion, which is larger than the entire crypto market combined today.
