XRP Rich List Shrinks as Network Breadth Grows

The XRP Ledger has reached an impressive milestone of over 8 million funded accounts. A snapshot from account Sunny Girl reveals that the top 10% of wallets require only 3,333 XRP to be considered among the elite, while the top 5% need 10,596 XRP and the top 1% require 64,076 XRP.

However, this is not without controversy. Independent XRPL snapshots put these figures lower, at around 2,120 XRP for the top 10%, 7,440 for the top 5%, 44,500 for the top 1%, and roughly 277,000 for the top 0.1%.

The direction is clear: more wallets are opening up, and the amount needed to look 'rich' on a percentile chart has been decreasing as the base grows. Eight million funded accounts represent a significant milestone in network breadth, with most of these accounts being small, holding between 1-100 XRP. The top 1% of funded accounts still control about 92% of the XRP sitting in funded wallets.

It's essential to note that ranking among accounts is not the same as owning a meaningful slice of supply. Exchange wallets, Ripple escrow accounts, and large balances sit in a different universe from retail holders with smaller amounts.
