XRP Seeks Breakout from Third Falling Wedge Pattern
XRP is currently trading within a falling wedge pattern that has appeared only twice in its history. Each previous occurrence led to a subsequent price surge.
This comes as XRP faces downward pressure alongside the rest of the crypto market, having collapsed 43.8% this year and currently trading for $1.03.
However, the falling wedge structure suggests that the downtrend may now be close to an end, with a potential bullish recovery on the horizon if it follows its historical pattern.
The first falling wedge played out when XRP dropped from its peak of $3.31 in January 2018, resulting in a steep decline and a low of $0.2451 by August 2018. The asset then broke above the upper trendline of the wedge and soared to a high of $1.96 in April 2021.
After this, XRP collapsed and entered another falling wedge structure, which led to its all-time high of $3.66 in July 2025. Now, the asset is slipping into the third wedge, with Wave z leading to a corrective phase from the $2.41 high to the current price of $1.03.
Once this happens, the ensuing rebound push could take XRP above the upper trendline of the wedge, leading to a breakout and marking the end of the downtrend. However, it is uncertain when or if this will happen.
