XRP Settlements Lag Behind Transaction Volume Amid AI-Powered Payments Boom

The XRP Ledger has processed nearly 4.5 million AI-driven micro-payments as of September 8, but only a small fraction of those payments actually settled in XRP tokens.

In fact, according to recent data, just 5,836 XRP tokens were settled from the large number of transactions.

The majority of these payments used Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD for stability, while XRP was mainly used to cover transaction fees that are then burned rather than distributed.

This discrepancy highlights a gap between transaction volume and XRP token demand, raising questions about the token's adoption and growth prospects.
