XRP Shatters Death Cross Signal in Record-Breaking Surge
XRP has broken through its death cross signal and is soaring to new heights. The asset jumped as much as 14.21% in 24 hours to $1.40, making it the best-performing cryptocurrency among the top 10 by market cap today.
The move comes on the back of a record short squeeze in Bitcoin, which has pushed its price above $77,000 with an intraday high of $79,000. The Treasury's plan to nearly double its long-bond buybacks starting September 9 has also contributed to the surge in liquidity and prices.
The XRP price chart had been trapped in a death cross pattern since earlier this month, but today's candle closed above both the 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages for the first time. While the 50-day average is still below the 200-day one, this move often precedes the lines crossing back into a golden cross.
