XRP Slides Despite Stablecoin Platform Launch Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
XRP continues to slide despite Ripple's stablecoin platform launch, trading at $1.10, a staggering 69% below its all-time high of $3.55 set in July 2025.
The new platform allows institutional clients to mint, redeem and manage RLUSD through a web interface or API, with the stablecoin issued by New York-based Standard Custody & Trust Company under a NYDFS charter. The market's response has been muted, with XRP slipping 1.51% on Thursday alone.
Ripple has secured a full crypto service license in Europe, enabling regulated offerings across the entire European Economic Area. This contrasts sharply with the regulatory gridlock in Washington, where the CLARITY Act has missed its July deadline and faces contentious issues regarding stricter ethics rules for public officials and interest-bearing stablecoins.
The Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on July 28-29 will likely set the near-term tone, while Ripple reports a 6% increase in RLUSD holder numbers to approximately 60,000. Until the CLARITY Act finds resolution or macro conditions shift, product announcements may struggle to move the needle.
