XRP Soars Ahead of Bitcoin and Ethereum in Cryptocurrency Rally
XRP surged ahead of Bitcoin and Ethereum on Thursday, gaining 13.6% to $1.39 in a day that saw broader crypto markets rally.
The weekly gain for XRP now stands at nearly 40%, significantly outperforming its peers. Bitcoin climbed 7.2% to $77,393.67, while Ethereum gained 4.6% to $2,403.59, both of which also posted strong weekly gains of 28.3% and 27.9% respectively.
The total crypto market capitalization reached approximately $2.68 trillion, with a 24-hour trading volume of $163.7 billion. Other major tokens such as Solana and Hyperliquid also advanced, with gains of 5.2% to $91.55 and 5.9% to $76.45 respectively.
The rally has led to significant losses for short sellers, who have seen their positions lose $3.787 billion over four days compared to just $687 million in losses for long positions over the same period.
