XRP Soars on Treasury News as Analyst Sees Path to $2 Within 48 Hours
Crypto analyst Dark Defender has set an ambitious short-term target for XRP, projecting it could climb to between $1.88 and $2 within two days. The forecast hinges on a chart structure he claims mirrors the setup that preceded a 500 percent surge in November 2024.
The move comes as XRP staged a sharp recovery from a prolonged slump that kept it trading below $1 through much of the prior week, thanks in part to a US Treasury announcement to at least double its long-term bond buybacks starting September 9. The news rippled through risk assets, with Bitcoin rallying first but XRP outpacing the benchmark cryptocurrency in subsequent sessions.
The Treasury move was followed by President Donald Trump hosting a group of crypto industry executives at the White House, including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. This meeting signaled continued progress in thawing relations between the administration and the digital asset sector.
Not all market participants agree with Dark Defender's projection, however. Some followers expressed concern about his methodology, pointing to structural changes in the market that could render historical analogies less relevant. Others questioned whether past projections from the analyst had often missed before eventually aligning with price action.
