XRP Supply Grows Amid Revenue Contraction Challenges Holder Returns
The circulating supply of XRP has grown by 5.5% year-over-year due to escrow releases, causing dilution that fee burns cannot offset, according to 21Shares.
This growth in supply comes as revenue from the XRP Ledger (XRPL) fell sharply by 81.6% to $1.18 million in the first half of 2026, driven by declines in swap pool fees and NFT royalties.
Despite settling $159.9 billion in transactions, the network's revenue contraction poses challenges for XRP holders, who face a net annual drag of 5.5%.
