XRP Surges 10% After Ripple CEO Garlinghouse Meets with Trump at White House Crypto Summit
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently met with President Donald Trump and other crypto industry leaders at the White House, pushing for clearer crypto rules. The meeting took place as XRP was recovering from the $1 area.
Growth of the US crypto market has been a key point in the discussion. 67 million Americans now hold crypto, or nearly one in four people. Garlinghouse emphasized that Washington can no longer ignore its growing user base, and praised Trump's focus on digital-asset innovation.
The CLARITY Act is another major topic of discussion. The bill aims to provide greater regulatory certainty for crypto companies, which could make it easier for them to build and operate in the country. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong described the September 15 vote as the most important next step for the bill's progress through the Senate.
XRP price surged nearly 10% to around $1.09 after the meeting, breaking above the $1.08 level. The renewed XRP ETF demand also contributed to the increase, with spot XRP ETFs recording $5.81 million in inflows on August 18.
