The price of XRP skyrocketed by 18.7% in the 24 hours following President Donald Trump's meeting with crypto executives and regulators at the White House on August 19.

While no specific announcements were made about XRP, the president discussed the future of the crypto sector, which led to a surge in prices for many cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Ripple's CEO was present at the summit and had an opportunity to appeal directly to the administration. This has raised some hopes that new regulations favorable to XRP could be implemented soon.

However, experts caution that XRP's tokenomics are still a major concern. The XRPL burns only 0.00001 XRP per transaction, resulting in minimal fees collected by the network.

Unless there is a significant change to XRP's economics, rallies will likely be driven by sentiment alone, making it a high-risk investment.
