XRP Surges Amid Uncertainty, On-Chain Data Shows Shift to Profit-Taking
Ripple's XRP saw a relatively flat day on Wednesday following a volatile week driven by macroeconomic uncertainty and shifting investor sentiment across the crypto market.
Over the past week, however, the token surged nearly 7% as investors continued to assess the long-term implications of the U.S. CLARITY Act alongside easing geopolitical tensions following the recent Middle East conflict.
On-chain data from blockchain analytics platform Santiment suggests XRP's recent recovery has pushed many short-term holders back into profit, with its 30-day Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio rising above the neutral line. This is alongside similar metrics for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and Chainlink.
While this indicates a shift from fear to profit-taking, Santiment notes that current readings do not suggest excessive overheating, but rather a potential for traders to prepare for short-term selling if bullish momentum begins to fade.
