$XRP Surges as Institutional Collateral and Tokenization Partner
Ripple's institutional footprint continues to expand as $XRP gains traction as collateral for institutional credit lines. The XLS-65/66 lending protocol, now live on the $XRP Ledger, enables this development.
Ripple Prime already accepts $XRP alongside Bitcoin, RLUSD, fiat currency, gold, and treasuries as eligible collateral. A September 8 SEC filing from Charles Schwab revealed that $XRP ETFs are being used as repo collateral, with usage reportedly growing quickly.
The City of London has named Ripple among 54 firms partnering to help scale tokenization adoption and establish clearer regulatory frameworks in the UK. This relationship isn't new; Ripple completed a proof-of-concept with the Bank of England back in 2017 and secured an EMI license and FCA approval in 2026.
