XRP Surges as Voting on Institutional Credit Proposals Reaches Quorum
XRP's price has surged by over 4% in the past 24 hours due to the voting process on two key proposals, XLS-65 and XLS-66. These upgrades will enable institutional credit within the blockchain by using XRP as collateral for loans and Ripple USD (RLUSD) as the settlement asset.
Evernorth, a digital asset treasury that focuses solely on XRP, has expressed its intention to utilize this feature if the proposals are passed. The company holds over $600 million worth of XRP, which cannot be used as collateral without leaving the XRP Ledger, thus unlocking billions in untapped liquidity.
Meanwhile, the market cap of Ripple USD (RLUSD) has reached a new all-time high of $2.4 billion, with adoption accelerating rapidly. Clearpool, a DeFi protocol that has facilitated over $900 million in on-chain loans for institutions, is planning to migrate to the XRP Ledger to unlock institutional credit.
Analysts predict that if the proposals are passed, XRP could rally towards the $1.80 level and potentially reach $2.10 in the mid-term.
