XRP Surges on BIS Study as Ethereum Breaks Key Technical Barrier
XRP's price surged about 3% after the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) published a study on using the XRP Ledger to verify official statistics.
The BIS research, which was released on September 2, explored whether summary values and cryptographic fingerprints of official datasets could be securely anchored on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
The study found that verification times were one to two seconds, with publication delays typically between three to five seconds.
In contrast, Ethereum's price was driven higher by a technical breakout as its 50-day EMA converged with its 100-day EMA.
